Donna Lipowitz
Donna Lipowitz is a perfumer and poet, a multi-sensory artist. Born in Australia, 1973, of German, Yugoslavian and British heritage, she has lived in four continents and five countries, currently residing in West Seattle, Washington State.
Donna earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Film & TV at Griffith University Brisbane, in Australia, 1993. She then went on to work in the Australian Film and TV industry for over a decade. Later living in London, UK, she made award winning Documentary films and began experimenting with Virtual Reality filmmaking, which more recently led to her interest in creating collective sensory experiences. Smell took center stage after discovering the Institute of Art and Olfaction in Los Angeles where she has been studying since 2019.
In 2020 Donna created an immersive VR experience including scent and touch, and a scented letter art project. She has also written and performed several poems on scent featured in the IAO’s Perfume on the Radio series in 2021.
