Mackenzie Reilly
Mackenzie Reilly was born and raised in New York. Her undergraduate degree in International Studies included stints in Paris and Rome where she studied the history of perfumery and the spice trade before training to become a perfumer at IFF’s Perfumery School. Mackenzie loves to experiment in the lab and field to develop novel, raw ideas untouched by market trends. She has an ongoing interest in the natural products of IFF’s Laboratoire Monique Remy, and materials like orange blossom, ambrette seed, and clean musks and ambers. Her minimalistic approach highlights key ingredients and a special palette. Mackenzie marvels at the discovery of ‘hidden’ scents, such as vetiver root or orris, which must age to find their odor; nutmeg, which resides inside a hard shell; and ingredients from the depths of the sea. Mackenzie's work reveals the capacity of odor to help us infer things and understand our environment. Among here creations are California Snow and Hossegor by A Lab On Fire, as well as Tower Fall and Mammoth by Caswell Massey.
