Hannah Marie Marcus: Mom Objects #1 (blue bottle)
Mom Objects is comprised of a series of scented objects the artist found and took from her 92 year old mother’s apartment without her mother's knowledge, over a period of 2 months, during the winter of 2024. The artist explains: “For 2 months, every time I went to visit my aging parents in the apartment where I grew up, I assigned myself the private task of finding - and stealing - a scented object I associated with my mother. The process exposed a quiet web of intersecting dynamics around intimacy, transgression, care and control.”
