Pascal Gaurin
Pascal Gaurin studied perfumery at ISIPCA in Versailles before joining IFF to create fragrances for the Pacific region in Hong Kong. Pascal is most inspired by dense essences, like resins and deep woods. His taste for darkness probably originates from his grandparents’ home in central France, where the forests are very dark and it always feels like nighttime. He fondly remembers the vapors of mushrooms, leaves and bark. He has an affinity for frontal materials that need to be tamed like cistus labdanum, patchouli and Cashmeran. Pascal's work is often inspired by music and he is known to define a perfume brief musically before finding the olfactive inspiration and imagine each of his fragrances as a soundtrack. Among his creations are Vanilla Anise by Jo Malone, Tom Ford for Men by Tom Ford, Celestial Patchouli by Sana Jardin, The Scent by Hugo Boss, and CK2 by Calvin Klein.
