Janine Hagal

Janine Hagal is an ambient herbalist and astrological perfumer originally from Jersey City, New Jersey. She began her journey with the magical facets of fragrance in 2011, and started her company Black Earth Botanica while living in Brooklyn. Part of her work has been creating a database of botanical material used in perfumery and their astrological correspondences. She's been using this to craft natal chart scents, based on the planetary placements of a particular moment in time, but until "Portraits In Scent" had never made her own.
