Eva Silberknoll
Eva is a mixed media artist, living and working in Austria with a background in fashion. She left the fashion industry to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, focusing on photography and cultural studies, but textile techniques remained integral for her creative practice. Her art tells stories - stories of personal journeys, desires and dreams visualized through staged photography that leaves enough space for the viewer's own narrative. She often combines her photography with colors, scents, and textiles.
The use of scent in her art allows her to expand her consciousness and gives her the courage to follow her heart and live her dreams, as well as the determination to break boundaries. Fragrance helps her to become the person she always wanted to be. The scents are like a cape that protect, carry and support her.
Eva’s work has been exhibited, among other places, in Austria (Künstlerhaus Klagenfurt), Italy (Adventure Park Trieste), Germany (ArtMUC, Munich), New York (Maison10) and Mexico City (C3 – UANM).
